Once I was convinced that all the humans were soon to die from environmental decay. However, when I stopped staring at the methane charts and looked around, I found reason to believe that demise wasn’t certain.
Possible, maybe; but definitely not certain.
I heard people asking unasked questions: “Can you scale that up so that it actually fixes things?” or “Anyone here want to start a revolution?” These are examples of unasked questions.
I also realized that I couldn’t know the future, and I found evidence to support three possible scenarios:
- Drowning: We are soon swept away by floods and rising seas of climate change.
- Near-Drowning: We swallow a lot of water, but somehow survive.
- Learning to Swim: We muddle through, keeping our head above water until we learn to swim.
I don’t know the future. No-one does, not even the Doomers. So I can't be certain about any of these future scenarios.
Overall, it’s a pretty gloomy picture, I admit, but I am unable to say for certain that we are doomed. So rather than being a Doomer, now I am a Gloomer.
Gloomers are woke to what’s going on.
Gloomers ask unasked questions, and then act on those answers that help us Learn to Swim.
Gloomers move towards the light, even though the light may be dim.
Gloomers move towards the light, fully cognizant of the depth of the dark.
Be a Gloomer.
It's real.
