Vita Sapien innovates at the intersection of environmental science and ecological spirituality to advance a sustainable life philosophy called Vita Worldview. One aspect of this worldview is to celebrate the rise of the Full Moon to help connect people to natural cycles and natural peak experience.

What's with the Red Ear Muffs, you ask...
Read on.
As the Full Moon rises, attendees listen to the Moon Rise Poem played from their smart phones through their personal earphones. The Red Ear Muffs are placed over the headphones to block out the background noise. In this way, they can give full attention to the Moon Rise and Moon Poem, creating conditions suited to foster ecophany.
The Moon is more than 98% full over three nights, the night BEFORE, the night OF and the night AFTER the offical Full Moon night.
The time of the moon rise advances about an hour a day, so the Moon rises early in a lighter sky on the BEFORE, and later in a darker sky on the AFTER.
Holding a Full Moon Party on one of three nights increases the odds that one night won't be a school night, and that improves the odds of getting more people to attend.
Vita Moon Party - 18 October 2024 - Terrace Bar, Emporium Hotel, Brisbane.
Guy Lane from Vita Sapien talks about fostering ecophany at the Vita Moon Party as he scouts for his camp site at Girraween National Park, Granite Belt region, Queensland, and sees a rabbit (not).
The first visible sign that the Moon rise is imminent is a faint glow around the Moon called the loom.
Full Disc is when the totality of the Moon becomes visible. The Moon Illusion is most profoundly felt when the Full disc is visible.
Lost Illusion is about 30-40 minutes after Loom and is when the Moon rises high enough in the sky for the Moon Illusion to fade.
